September to November 2014
Impressions and visitor comments from the sold-out shows of the world premiere in St. Gallen, Switzerland
July 2014
This WINGS IN MY HEART trailer gives you an impression of this emerging Rigolo production. The video was composed by Jean-Marc Abela and edited by Renato Müller for our website.
May/June 2014
Rigolo’s cast rehearses at Swiss Science Center Technorama in Winterthur. Our “Big Bird” and “Pendulum” are installed in the atrium and visitors are able to view rehearsals. The engineers at Technorama provide crucial aid for perfecting these installations and stage props, such as the “dove cinema”.
During the First Swiss Theatre Convetion, Rigolo and Technorama invited fans to a public rehearsal and panel discussion.
April/May 2014
The full cast meets for a first rehearsal at Theatre Siebeneck in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Three hectic weeks, during which stage, instruments and artists meet and work with directors and composer, choreographers, organisers and production crew. The above pictures were taken by Germán Antón (OtraDanza) at this rehearsal.
Winter 2014/2013
Directors Lena Roth and Maedir Rigolo evaluate the auditions and test rehearsals, and assemble the final stage cast; the choreographer visits Rigolo and signs the contract. Stage and prop development and construction continues. Production management is set up and the search for financial support and sponsors is launched. Thomas Imboden of CrossCulture takes on the management.
Autumn 2013
Final auditions and further rehearsals: an aerial acrobat couple from Russia/Ukraine, a Swiss step- and breakdancer together with Kemal, and an aerialist/performer from New Zealand are trying out the new mechanisms and gear in provisional scenes. The test phase has now been completed, and Jean-Marc Abela creates a wonderful WINGS trailer.
Spring 2013
Big Bird
New rehearsals in spring 2013: Two aerialists from Canada and the USA, an acrobat from Australia, hip hop dancer Kemal from the UK and dancer Marula, youngest daughter of Maedir Rigolo and Lena Roth, collaborate during this experimental phase.
Magic Pendulum
During summer 2013, first rehearsals take place at the Siebeneck Theatre in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Large installations, such as the “Pendulum”, are set up. Trial rehearsals are staged with choreographers, and on 7 August a selected group of sponsors and donors enjoy a private demonstration.
Flock of Birds
2012
In 2012, the first production pillars are established: the size and character of the show are defined, the theme decided. The search for cast and crew, and specialists of all fields, and the first contracts are signed.

2011
Preparations for WINGS IN MY HEART begin as early as 2011, with the development of new ideas; Rigolo director Maedir experiments with a “dove cinema” while on tour with his SANDDORN BALANCE. He collates a “flock of birds”, made from paper mâché, and networks with interested artists from around the world.

THE MAKERS OF “THE MAKING OF”
Apart from the directors and the cast, a great number of other participants contribute to Rigolo’s new stage creation WINGS IN MY HEART: light artists and sound technicians, organisers and promotion partners. A special crew, however, catches “The Making Of Wings” with video, photography and on film. They provide a view behind the scenes and document the progress of the production.
